Capital Planning

Student Life's Capital Investment Plan (CIP) provides a blueprint for future investments in our physical environment

During the annual CIP process Planning & Design works with each Student Life department to identify programmatic, space and facility needs for the immediate, mid-term and long-term periods. This process helps to align our investments with Student Life's strategic goals and the University Framework Plan, which is the long-term vision for our physical campus.

Identifying needs and priorities with a view toward the future allows us to make adjustments to our plan and review our priorities on an annual basis, updating existing needs in the Capital Needs Inventory and adding new entries as appropriate. This long-term approach also allows us to identify potential links in Student Life’s needs for the coming years, promoting efficiencies and partnering among departments.
